Banknotes

This part of the collection is dedicated to Treasury and Bank of England paper money issued since 1914. This a large and diverse collection with many examples of how our paper money has evolved over the past 100+ years.

The aim here is to obtain one note of each prefix, from each denomination, from each cashier. This is almost complete for Bank of England notes going back to 1928. More work is needed in obtaining both Treasury notes going back as far as 1914, and pre 1930s white Bank of England notes but these are often far more expensive! That said, there are a few examples to be seen here.
